What God requires of me - Chapter 2
Dad, can I use the car today?
Yes son, here are the keys!
Is it as simple as that? No, I don't think so.
99.999% of parents want to make sure that their child is fully skilled and responsible before they have access to the car. Aside from the legal necessities, they want to know that the child and car will come back unharmed and in the condition that they were in when leaving.
God in his infinite wisdom wants to change us from flesh and blood bodies to spirit beings like him. We will, under his authority, be able to roam the entire universe doing his work.
Mortal parents require their children to be mature enough to be trusted with the car. So, isn't it very likely that God would require much more assurance before he tansforms us and lets us loose for the rest of eternity.
Is there one word which would sum up just what he is searching for in us?
Yes!
The word is OBEDIENCE!
God needs to know that we will abide by his laws and instructions forever. Does that sound so unreasonable?
We covered in previous articles that ALL the words in the Bible were inspired. We covered that the Bible was written to be our instruction manual. We covered that we have been told not to add or subtract from the words in that book.
We have been told that True Christians would be small in number. We have been told that it is only those few that will be welcomed in to the Kingdom of God and resurected as spirits to reign with Jesus as kings and priests.
Are you going to be obedient enough to secure your position in God's Kingdom from the very start? If so, you need to continue to follow along and find out just what will qualify you as being OBEDIENT.
