God promises that at the final end time he will protect True Christians. But, only those that are truly faithful to ALL his commands.
Revelation 3:10-13
“Because you have obeyed my command to persevere, I will protect you from the great time of testing that will come upon the whole world to test those who belong to this world. I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take away your crown. All who are victorious will become pillars in the Temple of my God, and they will never have to leave it. And I will write on them the name of my God, and they will be citizens in the city of my God — the new Jerusalem that comes down from heaven from my God. And I will also write on them my new name. “Anyone with ears to hear must listen to the Spirit and understand what he is saying to the churches.
1 Peter 2:9-10
But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, God’s very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light. “Once you had no identity as a people; now you are God’s people. Once you received no mercy; now you have received God’s mercy.”
However, those True Christians are told to be part of a group in order to be able to know when to flee.
Zephaniah 2:1-3
Other translations say gather together before the decree takes effect. Isolated Christians may very well never get to hear this decree.
Significantly, Zephaniah means “Yahweh Hides” or “Yahweh Has Hidden”.
When will this decree be made? Jesus tied it to an event prophesised by Daniel:
Matthew 24:15
“The day is coming when you will see what Daniel the prophet spoke about — the sacrilegious object that causes desecration standing in the Holy Place.” (Reader, pay attention!)Mark 13:14
“The day is coming when you will see the sacrilegious object that causes desecration standing where he should not be.” (Reader, pay attention!) “Then those in Judea must flee to the hills.Continuing in Matthew we hear what to do next.
Matthew 24:16-21
“Then those in Judea must flee to the hills. A person out on the deck of a roof must not go down into the house to pack. A person out in the field must not return even to get a coat. How terrible it will be for pregnant women and for nursing mothers in those days. And pray that your flight will not be in winter or on the Sabbath. For there will be greater anguish than at any time since the world began. And it will never be so great again. There is also a warning of urgency in Jeramiah for this time.
Jeremiah 4:5-6
Shout to Judah, and broadcast to Jerusalem! Tell them to sound the alarm throughout the land: ‘Run for your lives! Flee to the fortified cities!’ Raise a signal flag as a warning for Jerusalem: ‘Flee now! Do not delay!’ For I am bringing terrible destruction upon you from the north.”Who will make this decree for us to heed?
Amos 3:7-8
Indeed, the Sovereign Lord never does anything until he reveals his plans to his servants the prophets. The lion has roared — so who isn’t frightened? The Sovereign Lord has spoken — so who can refuse to proclaim his message? What happens after we flee?
Revelation 12:13-17
When the dragon realized that he had been thrown down to the earth, he pursued the woman who had given birth to the male child. But she was given two wings like those of a great eagle so she could fly to the place prepared for her in the wilderness. There she would be cared for and protected from the dragon for a time, times, and half a time. Then the dragon tried to drown the woman with a flood of water that flowed from his mouth. But the earth helped her by opening its mouth and swallowing the river that gushed out from the mouth of the dragon. And the dragon was angry at the woman and declared war against the rest of her children—all who keep God’s commandments and maintain their testimony for Jesus.
