On the pages below we have some of the main prophecies for our time. Throughout thousands of years, since they were written, some prophecies have already taken place. These fulfilled ones can be used as confirmation that the Bible can be fully believed. Anything that has not obviously happened (most of it), is yet to happen!
There are also “dual prophecies”. These are where something is told that will happen fairly soon, but then is referred to also happen again in the “last days”. The details that are recorded from historical events, that were prophesied, allow us to fill in more detail of what might now happen in OUR future.
What we do know is that history repeats itself many times over. Human nature usually reacts the same way, time and time again when similar circumstances happen.
The Bible isn’t always clear exactly when each will take place. We are told that we must take a little from here and a little from there. God leads his Church and through his Holy Spirit he guides us to understand. A bit like a jigsaw puzzle. If you can’t see the complete picture then none of the pieces make any sense. However, if you believe God’s Word and are willing to believe what you read and don’t try and reason round what’s written, you can start putting the pieces together. As the pieces are assembled the individual parts start to form a recognisable picture that starts to make sense.
