Who is the “king of the south” at “the time of the end”?
There is expected to come a time when there will be an Arab-Moslem confederation that will challenge the domination of Europe. The leader of this alliance may even take the title Mahdi as in various non-biblical prophecies.
In Psalm 83 we get to see some of the nations that will be conspiring against Israel.
Psalm 83:4-8
“Come,” they say, “let us wipe out Israel as a nation.
We will destroy the very memory of its existence.” Yes, this was their unanimous decision.
They signed a treaty as allies against you — these Edomites and Ishmaelites;
Moabites and Hagrites; Gebalites, Ammonites, and Amalekites;
and people from Philistia and Tyre. Assyria has joined them, too,
and is allied with the descendants of Lot.
So, we have this confederation made up with the listed nations. Turkey (Edomites) – Saudi Arabia (Ishmaelites) – Jordan (Moab and Ammon) – Syria (Hagrites) – Lebanon (Gebal) – Palestinians (Amalekites and Philistia) – Assur (Tyre, migrated to Germany). Also, for a time, Germany (Assyria in Bible prophecy) will be allied with this southern confederation. Probably leading the whole of Europe at this time. But this doesn’t last.
Daniel 11:40-41
“Then at the time of the end, the king of the south will attack the king of the north. The king of the north will storm out with chariots, charioteers, and a vast navy. He will invade various lands and sweep through them like a flood. He will enter the glorious land of Israel, and many nations will fall, but Moab, Edom, and the best part of Ammon will escape. He will conquer many countries, and even Egypt will not escape.
When the king of the south attacks the king of the north it doesn’t go well. In retaliation, all the attacking nations and Israel get invaded apart from Turkey and Jordan.
